The Most Important New Year’s Resolution You Forgot

I hope you had a fun and festive holiday season and a happy New Year’s day!

Now that 2019 is upon us, I’m sure you’ve made some resolutions. Maybe it’s to lose a few pounds or get a pay raise. But did you forget the most important goal of all — keeping yourself and your loved ones safe?

After all, what’s the point of having more money if you’re not alive to spend it? Don’t mean to sound morbid, but I believe people should spend more time securing their personal protection rather than shoving their head in their apps or pretending bad things don’t happen to good people. Success this year starts first with walking confidently knowing you have the software (knowledge and mindset) and the hardware (tools, tactics, and techniques) to deal with anything thrown your way.

So join us for our first Kali class of 2019 on Monday, January 14. See the complete details here.

You’ll not only learn a close-quarters combat system but also break a sweat, too. (Can’t promise I can help you make more money, but I can help you trim some holiday bulge!) And remember, if you’ve never trained on a Monday night with us before, your first class is free — even if you’ve attended a previous seminar

Stay sharp out there!

On Hiatus to Help End Homelessness

PTK practice will go on a three-week hiatus starting this coming Monday, Oct. 29.

The Brea Congregational United Church has asked us to postpone training because it will host a homeless rehabilitation program in its hall, where we practice every Monday. The church is part of the Interfaith Shelter Network, which houses up to 12 people who are actively striving to find full-time employment and low-incoming housing. If you’re interested in cooking and serving meals as part of the program, please let me know and I can get you in touch with the right people.

After the program wraps, we’ll be observing Veterans Day the following Monday, so our first practice back will be Monday, Nov. 19. Please mark your calendars, set your alarms, and tell your friends to join us. The more the merrier!

For up-to-date information on our training schedule, you can always refer to our calendar here.
